At Jabulani Guest House you will be treated to the most delicious home-cooked meals. Breakfasts are served at the time of your convenience between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.
We choose to serve the kind of breakfast you prefer, and this may vary from a quick healthy breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt and honey, home-made muesli, warm croissants or freshly-baked muffins for the busy executive, to a leisurely affair with eggs, bacon and the whole hog with multiple pots of freshly brewed coffee or tea. We love to spoil the kids (and their dads) with fresh crumpets and maple syrup or French toast. Our home-made marmalades and jams are always a treat, as are the lovely cheeses from local cheese-makers.
COFFEE & TEA
While coffee- and tea-making facilities are available in the rooms, we will gladly supply you with filter coffee or tea from the kitchen - please ask any of the staff.
COLD DRINKS
A hospitality fridge, run on an honesty system, is available in the dining room. Please feel free to help yourself to the water, beer, soft drinks, or wine from the fridge. Please write your name and items taken in the book available, and you will be charged for these items at the prices as given in the front of the book, at the end of your stay.
DINING
Dining with us at Jabulani can be laid-back or a grand affair depending on your preferences, but will always be enjoyable. We go out of our way to satisfy even the most discerning palate .
We enjoy the lovely fresh fish caught in the cold waters of the Agulhas gulf stream passing the Cape Peninsula, the variety of seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables available to us from the local fruit markets (or from the garden, of course), venison or succulent lamb from the Karoo, the creativeness of local cheese makers, pots of lovely home-bottled olives, and of course the lovely wines from the Durbanville Wine Area.
With this abundance available to us, we would love to introduce you to the new creativeness of South African cuisine. Join us for whatever takes your fancy, from a Venison pie to a delightful buffet of seafood, served in the beautifully furnished dining room with its richness of old Cape wooden furniture.
Plan your stay so that you can choose the memories: Will it be a garden buffet under the Southern skies or will it be the chill of an African winter kept at bay by the fine local red wine and a crackling hearth in the dining room? There are deserts for every season - resist if you can! An occasional surprise event finds the guests in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. Thus Emilio's Italian dinners have become a regular event to which his local colleagues have become accustomed, and Sheelagh's curries have challenged Helena to further investigate traditional Indian cooking.
Do remember that dinners at Jabulani are optional and need to be prearranged. Of course there are a number of excellent restaurants in near proximity if an evening out on the town is on the cards. Speak to Helena for genuine references, from fine cuisine to true South African or African. We will gladly make reservations for you. For special occasions it is advisable to book ahead.
